Number one trending article on Apple!?
My first byline! I'm a mix of shocked and proud and grateful.
HOLY COW! Hi Readers-
I wrote an article in the Huffington Post - it’s my first byline - and then it went viral. I’m just so floored and proud.
It’s still number one as I type after eleven hours!? (Ahead of Brad, Angelina, and the NFL???)
I often say that after being so near to death so many times, I was sent back to life on a mission to help advocate for patients and support folks on a healing journey.
After that third intubation, when I could speak again - I realized I had to be an active voice in my care. And I’m here to tell you, it helped me survive.
I got a note from the doctor who started the text chain that saved me congratulating me on the article- and I’ll be forever grateful that he listened and took action. I only got better once they coordinated my care and worked together.
I hope you enjoy the article and find that it empowers you.
Love, T

Introducing "Glimmer"
Hi Readers, As we enter the week of “thanksgiving” I’m thankful for the term glimmer. Like learning the term Post Traumatic Growth, glimmers are in beautiful opposition to “triggers” and something I felt happening to me even though I didn’t have a label.
Meet Post Traumatic Growth
Hi Readers, It’s my 50th post! Wow. Thanks for going on this journey. Here’s a little concept I loved learning about. It helped me put a label on my some of my journey. Take it if it serves you. Share it if it resonates. If you’re new here, I started writing this when I was on dialysis. It’s intended to be both memoir and a practical tool to help folks wh…
Welcome to my disease. What is atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (aHUS) or Complement-Mediated Thrombotic Microangiopathy (CM-TMA)?
Hi, If you’re new here, I started writing a book six months ago when I was on dialysis. It’s intended to be both memoir and a practical tool to help folks who might be going through something similar or those caregivers and family supporting someone with a challenging diagnosis. I hope to include excerpts here as I write. NOTE: This is not intended to r…
I started writing this when I was on dialysis. It’s intended to be both memoir and a practical tool to help folks who might be going through something similar or those caregivers and family supporting someone with a challenging diagnosis. I hope to include excerpts here as I write. NOTE: This is not intended to replace actual medical guidance. Please consult your doctors on your individual challenges and situations. Also names have been changed for most of my medical staff.
Thank you to Roy Lenn and Richard Burwick for your founding level donation.
