I’m glad that your doctor listened to you, admitted his mistake, and apologized. I had a procedure in the 90’s to remove a uterine fibroid tumor. In those days, they cut you open as if you were having a C-Section (now it’s done laparoscopically). This was at the height of AIDS and I was concerned that I might need blood during surgery, so I asked my physician if I should give blood to have on hand. She said I wouldn’t need blood for such a simple procedure. I woke up in the recovery room after surgery to see that I was connected to a drip bag of blood. I also could not drink anything because I was still bleeding internally and might have to go back in for more surgery. I never saw my doctor that day or when they released me a few days later or even after I was back in the emergency room the evening of my release because my lungs were filled with fluids. Again, my doctor never came to see me. In the end, she had made a mess of my uterus, so when I did give birth, it had to be Caesarian, and almost killed me by filling me up with fluids to the extent I couldn’t breathe. (I gained 11 pounds in the two days after my surgery!). When I went in to her office for my post surgery exam (and she actually showed up), I told her I was upset that I was given blood post op after asking if I should have my own blood at the ready. Her answer was, “I’ve never seen a 37 year old who needed blood after this surgery” as if it was MY fault. I never went back to her again, and read a few years ago that her medical license was revoked and that she is now in prison for giving drug dealers prescription medications to sell…karma!
Your doctor remembered you and I’m sure, remembered what he did. You probably lifted a weight off his shoulders, as well! You are awesome, Taylor!
OH MY GOD. The twist in that story that she is IN PRISON. I'm so sorry this happened to you. And I'm sorry she was incapable of validating you. You were right. She was wrong. I can accept that people make mistakes- but apologies are powerful. I'm sorry she couldn't be the doctor you needed. But also good for you for confronting her about it. She was clearly a broken person.
I’m so proud of you! Often times we hide from those physicians, choosing to reschedule with someone else or just cancel. You stuck to your guns and addressed the situation AND gave him a second chance.
What a gift. Thank God you met each other with honest, mature accountability. I’d say this is rare. Beautiful, full circle healing and learning.
Glad for no surgery this year, as well🙏💜
Yes, a year off from an abdominal surgery would be nice! Happy for the happy-ever-after of this story.
I’ve been eagerly anticipating part 2 of this story! What a wonderful opportunity for healing for you both.
Yes, I'm grateful for the opportunity. Almost as scary as repelling off a building.

He handled it well. And I appreciate that he didn’t take up space trying to defend himself. I was grateful for this new version of healing. ❤️🩹
This makes me so happy 🥹
You and me BOTH. What a relief. Feels good to let it go now. 🫶
