As you know, Zach has written me a lot of love songs. Life has dealt us some tricky hands and he’s processed a lot of those emotions in his songs as well.
Welcome Beautiful RDG Readers.
First, I’m so honored to get a bit of love this week in the form of articles and reprints. My work was featured in GLOBAL GENES (repost from RDG), STAT NEWS, and KFF HEALTH NEWS (repost from STAT) and the aHUS Alliance blog. This is no small feat.
A follow-up piece to my STAT article is coming soon.
In the meantime, a little backstage sneak peek… processing through art can be powerful for us all.
I’m so lucky to be alive to hear this song.
Backstage pass:
Zach rehearsing this heart-moving song about fear in the face of loss…
When he plays this, there’s rarely a dry eye.
Sometimes when I hear it, it feels like I’m a ghost watching from some spirit plane.
Deep breaths.
Thanks to Lashon and Connor too.
See Zach play live near you soon! He tours through 13 states in the coming weeks. Tell him I say hi! I might even hit up a few! Hope to see you on the road.

I started writing this when I was on dialysis. It’s intended to be both memoir and a practical tool to help folks who might be going through something similar or those caregivers and family supporting someone with a challenging diagnosis. NOTE: This is not intended to replace actual medical guidance. Please consult your doctors on your individual challenges and situations. Please talk to your clinicians before adjusting any of your care protocols. Also names have been changed for most of my medical staff.
